This is a Senior Finance Business Partner opportunity reporting directly to the Financial Controller, playing a critical role in supporting senior leaders with high-quality financial insight, strategic advice, and decision support. The role is based in the Western Suburbs of Perth and offers exposure across a diverse and purpose-led organisation.
The Role
As Senior Finance Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to Executive Directors and senior managers, providing commercial, financial, and strategic support across multiple service areas. You will combine strong technical accounting capability with true business partnering, influencing decisions that drive sustainable performance.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Acting as the 2IC to the Financial Controller, supporting day-to-day finance operations
- Partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple directorates, challenging assumptions and influencing outcomes
- Preparation and review of monthly and annual financial reporting, including consolidation
- Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling processes
- Preparation of service line performance reports with detailed variance and KPI analysis
- Oversight of month-end and year-end processes, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Leading compliance, prudential reporting, and audit processes with external auditors and funding bodies
- Development of business cases, financial models, and funding submissions
- Providing coaching, guidance, and high-level review for Assistant Finance Business Partners
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and enhanced reporting (Excel / Power BI)
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Proven experience in a senior finance, finance business partnering, or commercial accounting role
- Strong technical capability across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and balance sheet management
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
- Demonstrated experience supporting executive-level decision making
- Advanced Excel skills; Power BI / Power Query experience highly regarded
- A proactive, adaptable mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Previous experience mentoring or guiding junior finance staff
