My client is an iconic organisation and a nationally recognised employer of choice. Situated centrally in the CBD, they are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Senior Finance Business Partner to join their high performing Property business unit in a long-term contract position. 

Job Description

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager and overseeing a team of 3, this position will see you specifically managing property investments, playing a pivotal role in the planning and forecasting process as well as key property accounting balances and issues, specifically AASB16.
Stakeholder engagement (with internal and external decision makers) is a key element given the scope and size of the organisations property portfolio. Key responsibilities will include: 
  • Influencing business planning processes and measuring financial performance to deliver financial forecasts, analysis and insight that supports the General Manager and the Senior Leadership Team;
  • Building and maintaining strong and trusted relationships with relevant Property managers and internal Finance stakeholders, particularly Corporate Centre Finance and Financial Control;
  • Development and maintenance of key relationship with outsourced specialist providers; 
  • Working with Property stakeholders to financially manage property investments, including planning, forecasting and supporting new business cases;
  • Working with stakeholders to drive business efficiency saves across the BUs to meet stretch targets;
  • Influencing key decisions to ensure best financial and objective outcomes for the organisation
  • Supporting the Senior Finance Partner – Property with other ad hoc tasks and projects as required
The Successful Applicant
 
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from candidates with a thorough knowledge of key accounting standards (AASB16) applicable to Property and previous experience with Financial Control. Given the nature of the role, candidates must be able to demonstrate business partnering experience with a Property division within a large corporate business with a significant property portfolio/store network. Candidates will be required to demonstrate a high level financial, analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills with an ability to correlate and sift data from a wide variety of sources and develop and understanding of business performance based on this data. Candidates with a Big-4 background who have already made the move into industry are strongly encouraged to apply.
