As a key member of the finance function and wider team, you will report directly to the GM. Your primary role will involve full, end-end accounting and overseeing the junior members of the team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation with the view to be promoted to Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Statutory reporting, including partnership, trust, corporate, and audit
- Tax compliance including income tax returns for partnership, service trust, and related corporate entities incorporating PAYG withholding / instalments, BAS, FBT, income tax returns, payroll tax, stamp duty, STP reporting
- Preparation of monthly/yearly management accounts, including regular analytical review, comparison to budget
- Day to day management of the finance team and overall finance function of the firm
- Cashflow management, reporting and analysis
- Monitoring / management of bank debt position, including monitoring / reporting annual covenants
- Annual stamp duty reporting to the Queensland Revenue Office
- Reconciliation of accounts including maintenance of capital / current accounts reconciliation
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services firm. Experience with integrated professional practice systems (ERP), such as MYOB Advanced or a similar platform, is essential. Additionally, expertise in partnership, trust, AFSL, and corporate accounting will be highly advantageous. Strong leadership skills are required to oversee a small team, where collaboration and effective teamwork are key. You should also demonstrate initiative in your approach to tasks and responsibilities.
