We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join an exciting Australian owned media business. Our client's core focus is to facilitate access to screen content though simple licensing solutions.
This is a pivotal and hands on role in a small finance team. This role offers you the chance to collaborate with stakeholders (finance and non financial) and work closely with the CFO and be involved in crucial reporting tasks and have the opportunity to enhance key systems.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Prepare and manage general ledger integrity, journals, and month-end close processes
- Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with tax obligations including BAS, FBT, PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation
- Lead preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and practice group profitability reporting
- Manage Payroll
- Identify and implement finance process improvements
- Collaborate with internal finance teams including Accounts Payable and Receivable
- CA/CPA qualification or studying.
- Experience in a financial accounting role.
- Experience in managing Payroll (essential)
- Ideally experience in Media / Entertainment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
- Experience within a small and dynamic team will be considered highly advantageous.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
