An exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Financial Accountant to join a well-established, international trading business. This role is ideal for a driven professional who enjoys ownership, thrives on meeting tight deadlines, and is ready to take full responsibility for core financial and management reporting functions.
Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with both local and overseas stakeholders, this role will see you leading month-end close, managing the general ledger and trial balance, preparing statutory accounts, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Maintain and reconcile the trial balance and ensure integrity of the general ledger
- Review and oversee all balance sheet reconciliations, working with extended finance team members
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and internal reports
- Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Coordinate and manage the audit process, acting as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors
- Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee monthly depreciation calculations
- Lead intercompany reconciliations and commission calculations
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes alongside the Finance Manager
- Manage preparation and lodgment of tax obligations including GST, FBT, payroll tax, and income tax
- Maintain finance-related process documentation and monitor procedural compliance
Skills and Experience:
We’re seeking a CA/ACCA/CPA-qualified professional (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally with a chartered upbringing that has built strong technical foundations. You will bring solid knowledge of AASB/IFRS, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills are essential, with experience working across departments and geographies. You’ll also be proficient in Excel, familiar with SAP, and possess a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
