About the role & Company

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to lead core financial operations and contribute to strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical accounting skills and a passion for continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, payroll, compliance, and risk governance, while supporting the broader finance team and senior leadership. This is a key role with influence across the organisation, offering both operational and strategic scope.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, payroll, and statutory returns (BAS, PAYG, payroll tax);
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger, fixed assets, and stock records;
  • Support budgeting, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation;
  • Enhance financial systems and processes for improved efficiency;
  • Contribute to risk management and internal audit activities;
  • Collaborate with teams and mentor junior finance staff;
  • Communicate financial insights to stakeholders and support decision-making;
  • Liaise with external accountants for annual reporting and FBT submissions;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations.
About the Successful Candidate
  • Demonstrates intermediate/advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of accounting standards.
  • Qualified as a CA or CPA with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Exhibits excellent analytical skills and the ability to formulate and present detailed reports.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management acumen.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, adept at tactful negotiation and problem resolution.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Holds Australian residency and is qualified to work in Australia.
