Reporting directly to the CFO you will be principally responsible for providing financial and commercial leadership across the business. Leading a small, yet highly capable team, you will be an integral member of the leadership group playing a key role in delivery of financial and commercial reporting whilst also remaining 'hands on' and in the detail delivering a number of strategic projects.
Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting
- Work independently to lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Manage group consolidation processes, including the elimination of intercompany transactions, foreign currency translations, and the preparation of consolidated management reports.
- Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Resolve intricate technical accounting issues unique to the automotive manufacturing sector (e.g., inventory valuation, warranty provisions, or supply chain accruals).
- Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing high-quality audit workpapers and responding to queries promptly.
- Ensure the control environment is robust and that all documentation meets statutory requirements.
- Utilise a Lean or continuous improvement mindset to identify bottlenecks in the current finance workflow.
- Optimise the use of SAP to automate manual tasks and enhance data integrity.
- Design and implement alternative workflows where legacy systems or processes are failing to meet business needs.
- Maintain a disciplined, task-driven approach to meet strict corporate and statutory deadlines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Production, Logistics) to ensure financial data reflects operational reality.
The Candidate
CA/CPA qualified, you are required to have extensive experience as a hands on Senior Financial Accountant role and be available for an immediate start.
