Role Overview
Based in Melbourne's CBD, our client is an established yet growing privately owned manufacturing group.  As a member of the finance function, you will play an integral part in shaping the strategic direction and performance of the finance function. The key deliverables will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Manage monthly management accounts for all companies assigned in line with accounting timetable;
  • General ledger reconciliations and responsibility for the balance sheet Management Accountant
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly rolling forecasts & annual budgets
  • Prepare monthly analysis of company performance against budget/forecast
  • Assist in the preparation of tax calculations for all companies including FBT and income tax
  • Identifying and reporting on tax and other statutory changes that could impact the business
  • Liaise directly with external auditors and ensure all queries are responded to and actioned in a timely manner
  • Setting of inventory costings (standards) and review of the manufacturing processes
  • Variance Analysis and reporting on key metrics for the business
  • Provide business partnering support to operational stakeholders to achieve business deliverables
  • Provide advice to business partners based on actual results and forecast scenarios
  • Assist in compiling annual insurance declarations
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of reporting and analysis to enhance management decision making
  • Identification and implementation of key business and process improvements
  • Work with the business systems development team to implement automated self-service reports for internal stakeholders
  • Manage the completion of the Inventory Stocktake process and ensure compliance with the stocktake policy
  • Assist with the development of financial policies, procedures, systems, and processes
Ideal Candidate 
The successful candidate will be CA/CPA qualified with in-depth experience working within the manufacturing sector. It is essential that you have the ability to work towards deadlines, have experience in preparation and review of statutory accounts and disclosures and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
