A global ASX-listed industrial business is seeking a high-calibre finance professional to join its corporate head office in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for a chartered first or second mover to step into a broad group financial controlling role in a complex, multinational environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Financial Control Manager, this lead role is responsible for delivering financial accounting, group consolidations, statutory reporting, and technical accounting support across corporate and investment entities. You'll work closely with regional finance teams, Group Tax, Shared Services, and the external auditors to ensure timely, accurate and compliant reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and consolidation of group financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Leading the month-end close and managing the general ledger
- Statutory reporting, investor relations support, and liaison with external auditors
- Providing technical accounting advice on group and regional matters (including impairment, intercompany, etc.)
- Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and finance projects
- Supporting the group’s internal controls, assurance and compliance frameworks
- Coaching and developing junior team members
We’re looking for CA-qualified professionals coming from Big 4 or mid-tier audit firms, ideally with a portfolio of large, complex, or listed clients. You may be making your first move into industry, or already working in a technical accounting role and ready for your second move into a broader group-facing position.
You’ll bring:
- 3+ years’ post-grad experience in audit, financial reporting or financial control
- Technical strength in consolidations, financial statements, and compliance
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with senior stakeholders
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the confidence to challenge and improve processes
- Demonstrated team leaderships or management experience
