About the role
  
Within this newly created role you will play one of the most important functions with the organisation and legal team.  You can expect to have exposure to the highest levels of stakeholders while being comfortable in adjusting your approach to achieve the best outcomes, be they commercial, strategic or risk management.
  
The excitement of being part of a new product of this scale is something that comes up rarely with a role of this level- Product design, marketing and navigating the regulatory environment will be but a few of activities that you will deliver positive and meaningful solutions.

About You

You will come from a strong FS background where you have advised on financial planning and wealth management.  This could have been in a firm environment with some secondment experience, or working in house in an advice/product focused environment. Some of the attributes you may have that will help you get the most out of this role are the following:
  
  • Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience, in a commercial legal environment, such as a top tier / high quality mid-tier law firm or quality in-house legal department.
  • Extensive understanding of financial advice, having prior experience working for, or advising, a financial advice licensee (for a minimum of 2 years). This should include experience in the provision of legal advice to senior stakeholders, including to senior executives.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements applicable to financial advice licensees (including, but not limited to, Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act and ASIC Regulatory Guides).
  • Familiarity with the financial services sector, ideally gained within an in-house legal function of a similar scale financial services organisation.
