The Opportunity
We’re seeking an Legal Counsel/Senior Counsel Employment & Litigation for a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Legal Manager – Employment & Litigation, this role provides high-quality legal advice across employment, workplace relations, litigation, and regulatory matters impacting the APAC businesses.
This is a broad, hands-on role with exposure to senior leadership teams, complex disputes, and high-profile projects. It’s a great opportunity for a seasoned legal professional to bring their expertise to a purpose-driven, global organisation.
Key Responsibilities In this role, you will:
- Provide expert advice on employment law, workplace relations, equal opportunity, diversity, and WHS matters.
- Manage litigation and disputes, including advocacy, drafting court documents, mediations and working with external legal advisors.
- Advise on regulatory matters impacting APAC businesses.
- Support senior management and boards with strategic legal advice and reporting.
- A law degree and current Australian practising certificate (mandatory).
- Minimum 6+ years PQE, ideally from a law firm plus in-house corporate experience.
- Strong background in employment / workplace law and dispute resolution.
- Advocacy experience (Fair Work Commission or courts) highly regarded.
- Working knowledge of privacy and Australian Consumer Law desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills, resilience, and the ability to build trusted relationships.
