Our client owns and operates electricity distribution networks servicing 1.2 million customers while also enabling the renewable generation essential to transition to a clean energy future. They are on the lookout for a part time Senior Payroll Officer to support the Payroll Team Leader ensuring the company’s payroll function offers exceptional service delivery, with a strong focus on the day-to-day activities of the team, including managing and prioritising workload.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Subcontractor payroll for a specialised business unit of approximately 70 employees paid weekly.
- Act as the liaison between the outsourced payroll (EMS) function and the internal team.
- Payroll reporting using SAP.
- Respond to a variety of employee payroll queries received through the Payroll Portal.
- Prepare and remit monthly and annual payroll tax payments.
- Prepare monthly and annual reconciliations.
- Coordinate and administer the Company’s Income Protection Insurance Claims and WorkCover claims.
The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience with SAP essential
- Previous experience in an outsourced payroll function
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven process improvement initiatives
- High attention to detail including prioritising and organising workload
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
- Confident when dealing with stakeholders both internal and external
- Able to take initiative and accountability for assigned task
- Excellent salary $108k + super (pro rata)
