The Organisation

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Payroll Officer (2iC) to join the Head Office team. The Senior Payroll Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of payroll, while observing relevant legislation and organizational policies and procedures. This position will also involve assisting the Payroll Manager in a second-in-command role.


The Role

They are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader/Senior Payroll Officer to join their fast-paced environment in a permanent, full-time capacity in an end-to-end 2iC position.

Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll using appropriate systems and procedures.
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure correct allocation of payments in the general ledger.
  • Assist with calculations for salary/wage increases, amendments, terminations, and leave calculations.
  • Maintain payroll records in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Provide payroll support to site payroll administrators and assist with payroll-related queries.
  • Implement and deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work Act and other payroll-related regulations.
  • Assist with year-end processes and reporting.
  • Provide support to the TAPS project team where necessary

Candidate Profile:

The successful applicant will have proven experience processing payroll in a large organisation, as well as the following attributes:
  • Experience in high volume payroll environments
  • Prior experience with ADP Payforce is essential with Time Target as icing on the cake
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or mentoring of teammates in a prior role
  • Experience interpreting EBA and awards and offering accurate information to the organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to liaise confidently with colleagues
  • High attention to detail and level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in process improvement and implementation is desired, but not essential
  • An approachable persona with strong interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach to work, with an ability to build a strong rapport with varying stakeholders
