With a focus on innovation and growth, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer / Payroll Lead to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. 
  

Position Description:

With team fit and culture a priority, the business is seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Payroll professional to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties will include:

  • Lead and transact the payroll processes across our employee lifecycle
  • End-to-end payroll processing of 200+ employees fortnightly (and ad hoc) using HR3
  • PAYG, WorkCover, Superannuation, new starters, terminations, adjustments, annual, long service and personal leave
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing that adheres to legislation, awards, EBA’s and contractual agreements
  • Single Touch Payroll & reconciliations
  • ATO reporting and payments
  • Prepare journals for Payroll transactions
  • Month-end processing and reconciliation for payroll accruals, tax and superannuation
  • Administer salary packaging and manage relationship with external salary packing provider
  • Liaise with Human Resources on interpretation and application of Industrial Agreements, ensure pay records are accurate and representative of entitlements and conditions
  • As the payroll subject matter expert, provide sound advice and recommendations regarding relevant
    legislation, allowances, deductions, superannuation, payroll tax and more
  • Proactive in identifying and understanding changes in legislation, thresholds and rates that impact payroll
  • Support the creation and maintenance of best practice documentation, workflows and processes

Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will have previous proven extensive payroll experience and ability to operate as an effective leader. The role is suited to attract high calibre candidates, who are seeking future growth and development. They will also have the following attributes:
  • Experience managing complex, multi-site organisation payrolls with multiple enterprise agreements and shift patterns
  • Experience in an environment of change
  • Demonstrable understanding of payroll issues and subsequent mitigation of risks
  • Proven application of legislative requirements and deliverables: PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation
  • Strong understanding of all relevant legislations, ATO regulations, FBT & Superannuation legislation
  • Strong understanding of enterprise agreement interpretation
  • Demonstrated ability to devise and review systems for operational efficiency and control an document the end to end payroll services on offer
  • Ability to identify issues and areas for improvement through analysis
  • Excellent time management & organisational skills
  • Possess high level attention to detail
  • Well developed verbal & written communication skills
  • Desire to work collaboratively, and passion for payroll
