Workday HRIS Lead
Senior People Systems & Insights Partner | Permanent | Ipswich

The Opportunity
A high-growth Queensland local government organisation is looking for a senior Workday specialist to take genuine ownership of its enterprise HRIS function.

This isn't a support role. You'll shape HRIS strategy, lead complex projects, govern critical systems, and build the analytics capability that informs executive decision-making. This is all within a stable, values-led public sector environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own Workday and Aurion configuration: business processes, security, structures, and integrations
  • Lead major HRIS projects including upgrades, new module deployments, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Drive enterprise-wide process optimisation and automation across HR, payroll, timekeeping, and safety
  • Develop advanced dashboards and workforce analytics for executive and Council-level reporting
  • Govern HRIS compliance, audit readiness, and data privacy frameworks
  • Manage and coach a small HRIS team and broader P&C stakeholders
  • Manage vendor relationships and contribute to long-term HRIS roadmap planning
What We're Looking For
  • Expert-level Workday experience: configuration, security, and integrations (essential)
  • Aurion experience is an advantage, but not a barrier; strong Workday candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Proven ability to lead HRIS projects end-to-end, including vendor and stakeholder management
  • Advanced reporting and analytics capability within Workday or similar platforms
  • Confident communicator who can translate technical complexity for senior, non-technical audiences
  • A coaching mindset; you develop capability in others, not just solve problems yourself
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, payroll, or project management are desirable but not required
Why Apply
  • Genuine leadership role with direct reports and real influence over HRIS strategy
  • Above-statutory superannuation (12.5%)
  • Stable, community-focused organisation in one of Queensland's fastest-growing regions
  • Opportunity to shape a maturing HRIS function during a period of sustained growth
