Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) owns and operates Awoonga Dam on the Boyne River along with a network of delivery pipelines, water treatment plants and other bulk water distribution infrastructure in the Gladstone region in Central Queensland. GAWB's purpose is to ensure the long and short term water needs of current and future customers are met in ways that are environmentally, socially and commercially sustainable. In addition to the supply and transportation of bulk water, GAWB provides important services to the community, including catchment management, a fish hatchery and recreational facilities.
Due to an internal secondment, GAWB is seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Analyst to join its team on a 12 month fixed term contract. The role can be based from their Brisbane (West End) or from Gladstone offices.
About the Role
The Senior Regulatory Analyst supports the Regulatory and Planning Manager, assisting with economic regulatory matters and financial analysis. The Senior Regulatory Analyst plays a pivotal role in:
- analysing and reporting on regulatory and policy developments within Australia
- conducting pricing analysis
- assisting with the review of business cases
- supporting our business performance and customer engagement activities.
The ideal person for this role will have experience working within the water sector or a regulated utility such as electricity or gas. You will hold tertiary qualifications in Economics, Commerce, Business, Mathematics, or similar. You will have an excellent understanding of economic regulation and how regulatory and policy obligations can impact business operations.
