Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be accountable for managing the manufacturing site with accountability for Safety, People, Quality, Output, Customer Satisfaction and Cost. The Site Operations Manager will lead with these priorities in mind:
- Be a safety champion and role model for positive safety behaviours to ensure safety is the number one priority on site.
- Ensure that all production activities are aligned with the quality system and quality objectives of the business while delighting our customers by meeting the specified customer quality standards at all times.
- Continue the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Program to build upon our culture of operational excellence towards world best practice leading to excellent safety performance, market-leading quality and cost competitiveness.
- Ensure Productivity meets requirements and continues to challenge established standards.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant standards (ISO, HACCP, GMP).
- Continue to develop a supportive, engaged and proactive work culture that meets the needs of the business, develops our people and enables team members to achieve individual career aspirations.
- Lead and support the significant investment program on site to ensure the business can sustain and exceed current output to meet growing customer demand.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the following:
- Degree qualifications in Engineering, Science or a related field.
- A well-developed understanding of relevant OHSE standards and legislation and be committed to driving proactive safety behaviour and attitude.
- Previous site leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (safety, production, quality, engineering, maintenance and logistics) in a manufacturing environment.
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills which inspire high performance and strong employee engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams on a journey of continuous improvement and change.
- Knowledge and experience of lean tools and processes.
- A strong commercial acumen with previous experience managing budgets including operational, labour, repairs and maintenance and capital.
