What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare and lodge tax returns, calculations, and journals across a variety of taxes (income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax, CbC reporting, stamp duty, levies, and more).
- Complete monthly tax calculations, reconciliations, and journals.
- Research complex tax issues and prepare clear supporting memoranda.
- Maintain high-quality workpapers and reconciliations that ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve tax processes, driving efficiency.
- Partner with finance and business teams to strengthen tax risk management and embed effective controls.
- Support internal/external audits and tax authority reviews.
- Stay across legislative changes, assessing their impact on the business.
- Contribute to wider finance and business projects as needed.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing technical expertise with business partnership. You’ll ideally have:
- 3+ years’ tax experience, ideally gained in a Chartered setting.
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards).
- Strong technical tax knowledge, with indirect tax experience a plus.
- Experience within insurance or financial services (desirable, not essential).
- Ability to navigate systems, data, and processes confidently.
- A track record of process improvement or automation is highly valued.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in a large, multi-entity organisation is desirable.
- A proactive, self-starter mindset with curiosity and drive.
