My client is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their Finance team on an initial 3‑month contract. This hands‑on role will focus on delivering accurate and timely Australian tax compliance, supporting tax accounting and reporting, and working closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external advisors. It’s an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who can hit the ground running in a corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and support Australian income tax return calculations, disclosures, and statutory lodgements
- Assist with FBT returns and GST compliance, including BAS calculations, reconciliations, and adjustments
- Support tax accounting activities, including current and deferred tax calculations, journals, and balance reconciliation
- Assist with effective tax rate calculations, tax disclosures, and audit support for statutory reporting
- Monitor compliance areas such as thin capitalisation and support automated tax compliance processes
- Maintain strong tax governance practices, identifying compliance risks, errors, or process improvements
- Liaise closely with internal finance teams, external auditors, and advisors to ensure accurate and timely compliance outcomes
- Support ATO queries, audits, and information requests under direction of the General Manager – Tax
About You
- CA/CPA qualified (or close to completion)
- Strong grounding in tax compliance (either from chartered or industry)
- Solid financial accounting experience and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating across the business
