12-month day rate contract - lead the technical design and delivery of data and analytics solutions. Guide a small team of data engineers and Power BI developers. Work closely with a Product Owner and Business Analyst to deliver scalable, insight-driven products.

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader with strong Microsoft data platform expertise and a committed mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data discovery by analysing and querying APIs
• Design and develop data models in line with IT governance standards
• Provide technical leadership to data engineers and Power BI developers
• Deliver data and analytics products aligned to user requirements
• Review and assess AI and automation solutions proposed by vendors
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve technical challenges
• Review business processes to identify issues, risks and opportunities

Required skills and experience:

• Advanced SQL and strong experience with relational databases
• Proven expertise building and optimising data pipelines and architectures
• Strong Kimball data modelling, particularly within Microsoft and Power BI environments
• Solid experience with Power BI and analytics development
• Strong analytical capability across structured and unstructured data
• Experience working in cross-functional, Agile delivery teams
• Hands-on experience with Azure services including Databricks, Data Factory, Logic Apps, Functions, Data Lake, Storage, Azure Search and Purview
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps and JIRA
• Strong understanding of APIs and tools such as Postman
