About the Role As the Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and executing capital projects across the site. This is a senior technical role within the Capital Engineering team, where you will oversee upgrades, expansions and new installations from planning through to commissioning and ongoing support. You will ensure projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance, while acting as the subject matter expert for automation and electrical systems. Alongside your own project portfolio, you will provide advice and guidance to other engineers on automation decisions within their projects. Reporting to the Capital Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with Reliability Engineers and Operations leaders to deliver projects that enhance performance, efficiency and long-term sustainability of the site. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver automation and electrical projects, ensuring scope, cost, safety and quality standards are met. Manage the full lifecycle of projects including planning, design, procurement, commissioning and handover. Partner with site stakeholders across engineering, operations and reliability to align on project needs. Act as the automation subject matter expert, supporting colleagues with advice and technical input. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, cost, efficiency and sustainability. Skills and Experience 10+ years’ industry experience in automation and electrical engineering, ideally within food, FMCG or highly regulated manufacturing. Strong technical expertise in PLCs, SCADA, robotics, industrial networks and electrical power systems. Demonstrated track record delivering large-scale capital projects on time and within budget.
