About The Organisation An experienced Property Accountant is sought to join a property finance team responsible for the accounting and financial management of a commercial property portfolio. The role has end-to-end responsibility for property accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and stakeholder collaboration. This role is suited to a detail-oriented self-starter who can also see the broader commercial picture, thrives in a hands-on environment, and enjoys working closely with property managers and senior stakeholders.The Role The key requirements of the position will include, but not be limited to the following: Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end property financial reports, including actuals, budgets and forecasts Take full ownership of end-to-end property accounting, including tax considerations Maintain and oversee the property management system (MRI), including reviewing and approving property and lease data set up by outsourced service providers Ensure accurate and timely tenant billings, collections and related communications in collaboration with Property Managers Develop and continuously improve systems, processes and procedures for analysing property performance and value Manage end-to-end lease administration, rent rolls, tenant billing and receipting, ensuring accuracy and compliance Prepare monthly management accounts, expense accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis Oversee outsourced accounting processes, including tenant receipts, bad debt reviews and write-offs Review and approve invoices, PO coding, GST treatment and capital vs operating expenditure in line with tax legislation Lead annual budgets, forecasts, outgoing estimates and outgoings wash-ups, including audit coordination and tenant communications The Organisation Our client is a industry-leading organisation. The CandidateThe successful candidate will meet the following criteria: 5 years’ experience in owner-operated property accounting Strong financial and tax accounting experience within the property sector Proven budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience Ability to interpret lease agreements and translate terms into financial outcomes Practical experience with MRI (highly regarded) Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel CA or CPA qualified How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link below.
