We’re partnering with a well-established, nationally recognised food distribution business seeking a Trader / Account Manager to join their growing QLD-based team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a role that blends sales, procurement, and trading, with real ownership over your portfolio.

About the Role

This position sits at the intersection of sales and procurement, responsible for managing supplier relationships, sourcing products, and driving revenue growth across a portfolio of foodservice and wholesale customers.

You’ll be working in a highly dynamic environment where no two days look the same - balancing customer demand, pricing, supply, and margin optimisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of customers and supplier relationships
  • Source and procure products aligned to customer demand and market trends
  • Negotiate pricing, supply terms, and trading agreements
  • Deliver against sales, margin, and volume targets
  • Identify new business opportunities across foodservice and wholesale channels
  • Monitor market activity, pricing trends, and competitor movements
  • Conduct account reviews to drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Build a strong network across distributors, suppliers, and end-users
  • Prepare forecasts, sales reports, and performance insights
About You
  • Experience in sales, trading, or procurement within foodservice, FMCG, or distribution
  • Background in chilled, frozen, or perishable goods highly regarded
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance margin and volume
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Confident negotiator with strong communication skills
  • Highly organised, analytical, and comfortable working autonomously
  • Understanding of supply chain, logistics, or product handling advantageous
