A fantastic opportunity exists for a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Accountant to join a collaborative Finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organisation’s financial records and reports. You’ll be responsible for maintaining complete and accurate financial data, preparing financial statements, and supporting various reporting activities, including month-end processes and statutory obligations. The key responsibilities of your role will include but not be limited to the following.
- Maintain accurate general and subsidiary ledgers
- Process month-end and year-end transactions, accruals, and reconciliations
- Reconcile ledgers and balance sheets, resolving discrepancies
- Prepare statutory reports in line with accounting standards
- Support treasury forecasting and management
- Assist internal and external audits with documentation
- Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Handle tax tasks, including BAS returns and payments
- Process corporate card transactions and journals
- Drive improvements in financial systems and processes
- Support daily Finance team tasks
- Stay up to date with relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Ad hoc duties and responsibilities specified by your Manager
The Candidate
You will have a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, be CA or CPA qualified (or working towards it), and bring 2–3 years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a corporate environment. You’ll demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards, along with advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft D365 FinOps experience is an advantage). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and exceptional attention to detail are essential. WHV candidates are also encouraged to apply as this role will be a 4 contract role.
