About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our client who are a global organization operating within the mining and resources sector. This is a permanent position that offers an excellent chance to gain invaluable industry experience while collaborating with a highly supportive and well-tenured finance team.

Responsibilities
As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and facilitating informed decision-making through your diligence and expertise. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Financial Reporting: Preparation, review, and variance analysis of monthly and quarterly reports, comparing actual performance to budget/forecast. These reports will encompass the Statement of Financial Performance (Profit & Loss), Cash Flow, Revenue, Cost, and Operational Performance.
  • Journal Entries: Responsible for preparing monthly journals and reconciliations to ensure the complete and accurate recording of expenses and revenue recognition.
  • Forecast Updates: Develop and maintain monthly forecast updates, aligning them with actual results and providing critical insights to support the financial planning process.
  • Consolidated Reporting: Contribute to the preparation and presentation of the monthly consolidated financial and operational report. This will include conducting variance analysis and presenting the findings to the management team.
  • Board Reporting: Assist in the preparation of materials for board reporting, ensuring that financial information is presented accurately and comprehensively.
Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
  • A degree in finance and accounting, showcasing a strong educational foundation in the field.
  • Progress towards CA or CPA certification, reflecting a commitment to professional growth.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to precision in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Prior experience in handling foreign currency, demonstrating a versatile skill set.
