About the Role:
Sitting within a structured and supportive finance department, this role is responsible for managing the full Accounts Payable function while also processing weekly payroll for approximately 350 employees. With a highly automated AP environment (around 95% automation), this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume setting while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

You will process weekly payroll using modern payroll systems, manage reconciliations, support year-end activities, and serve as a key contact for payroll-related queries across the business.

The role is best suited to someone who enjoys variety, is confident with systems, and can balance autonomy with collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable:
  • Accurately process supplier and subcontractor invoices
  • Manage weekly and month-end payment runs
  • Complete monthly supplier reconciliations
  • Respond to payment and supplier enquiries
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations
  • Support fixed asset updates and reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate AP data within internal systems
Payroll (Weekly – approx. 350 employees):
  • End-to-end payroll processing
  • Maintain payroll and employee records
  • Reconcile and lodge superannuation and payroll tax
  • Process deductions including child support and union fees
  • Manage workers compensation and insurance claim reporting
  • Complete quarterly and annual payroll obligations
  • Provide timely support to employees and managers
General Finance Support:
  • Assist Accounts Receivable when required
  • Participate in month-end processes
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in a hybrid AP/Payroll role (training available for the right person)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, automated environment
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with reconciliations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder service skills
  • Experience with ERP or payroll systems (highly regarded)
  • Background in construction or manufacturing is advantageous
