The opportunity 

Sharp & Carter are proud to partner with an established and well-regarded professional services firm for the recruit of a permanent full-time Credit Officer and Payroll support.

In this varied position, you’ll take ownership of credit and collections processes while providing hands-on support with payroll administration. The role offers strong exposure across both finance and people operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys balancing analytical tasks with stakeholder interaction.
This is a permanent full-time position based in the CBD. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee customer accounts, manage collections and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Prepare statements, reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Process incoming payments, allocate receipts and assist with electronic billing.
  • Liaise with internal teams and clients to resolve account or billing queries.
  • Support end-to-end payroll coordination in partnership with an external provider.
  • Manage employee data, pay adjustments and onboarding/offboarding changes.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance and adherence to internal policies.
  • Respond to staff queries with professionalism and attention to detail.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Credit Control within Australia.
  • Previous experience supporting payroll operations, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
