About the Role:

Our client is looking for a motivated Accounts Officer/Finance Assistant (opportunity for title to be flexible for the right candidate) to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a solid foundation in finance and gain hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions.
In this role, you’ll support the finance team with full-function accounts payable (50%), month-end processes (15%), rebate tracking (20%), treasury support (15%), and corporate card administration. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (50%)
  • Process PO and Non-PO invoices, ensuring timely and accurate validation.
  • Manage the Australia Accounts Payable inbox and resolve Goods Receipt variances with the business.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs, including foreign currency payments.
  • Handle supplier queries and perform vendor statement reconciliations.
  • Coordinate supplier master data creation 
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to accounts payable.
Month-End & Reconciliations (15%)
  • Prepare journal entries and support balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support GR/IR clearing and intercompany confirmations, including investigating variances.
Rebates (20%)
  • Maintain and update datasets for monthly rebate expense calculations.
  • Support the creation of monthly accrual journals for rebates.
  • Prepare rebate ageing reports and related balance sheet reconciliations.
Treasury & Tax (15%)
  • Assist with weekly cashflow forecasts.
  • Support preparation of GST (BAS), FBT, and Withholding Tax returns for Australia.
About you:
  • A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Knowledge of SAP (strongly preferred but other ERP's will be considered).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
