This is a hands-on, operational role suited to someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working through manual allocations and engaging directly with customers to resolve payment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually allocate incoming payments across a high-volume AR ledger
- Perform cash application and allocation work where automation is limited
- Actively follow up overdue accounts and chase payments via phone and email
- Investigate allocation discrepancies, short payments and unidentified receipts
- Liaise with customers to resolve payment queries with professionalism and empathy
- Support ledger clean-up and backlog reduction
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve billing and allocation issues
- Proven AR experience in a high-volume environment
- Strong manual allocation and cash application experience
- Confident communicator, comfortable on the phone chasing payments
- Customer-focused with strong empathy and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and resilient
