About the Role
We are seeking an Applications Engineer to join a high-performing team at Bucher Municipal. Reporting to the Lead Engineer – Applications, you will provide technical support and design input across a diverse product range. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical design skills and an interest in mobile equipment or custom vehicle applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support across sales, production, and customer-specific non-standard solutions
- Review chassis layouts, liaise with truck suppliers, and prepare mounting designs
- Prepare 2D AutoCAD layouts for chassis, body configurations, and in-cab component placement
- Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, sales, and external suppliers
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience designing mobile equipment or mechanical systems
- Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD; SolidWorks experience advantageous
- Working knowledge of Australian standards including ADRs and VSBs
- Understanding of hydraulic systems highly desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
