A long-standing, reputable property development group with a strong footprint across metropolitan and regional areas in Victoria and NSW is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-driven Assistant Accountant. With a foundation built on integrity, sustainability and innovation, this family-owned business takes pride in delivering quality residential developments and managing projects end-to-end—from land acquisition to construction and capital funding.
The Role
Working closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Team, you’ll play a key support role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will also enjoy a high level of stakeholder engagement with external accountants, clients, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processing for group entities
- General ledger and bank reconciliations
- Preparing payment run schedules
- Reviewing petty cash and debit card usage
- Trust accounting using Property Tree
- Supporting month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with management and financial reporting
- Supporting BAS preparation
- Providing ad hoc assistance to the Finance team as required
- Degree qualified in Accounting, working towards CA/CPA
- Prior experiences processing AP and AR is essential
- Any experience automating or improving AP would be highly regarded
- Proficient in Xero and QuickBooks (essential)
- Experience in the property or construction sector is essential
- Strong attention to detail and high level of efficiency
- Self-motivated, proactive and a strong team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
