Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role offers the opportunity to work within a fully remote team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a platform-level test automation framework that supports a PHP/Laravel backend and a modern JavaScript/Vue frontend.
Working closely with developers and product teams, you’ll embed quality throughout the SDLC and help shape how automation is done across the platform.
The ideal person for this role will have some experience or qualification in software engineering, having transitioned into automation and quality engineering.
Required:
- Proven experience creating or owning a platform-level automation test framework
- Strong experience with modern automation tools (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Selenium, similar)
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation
- Understanding of PHP and Laravel-based applications
- Experience testing Vue.js front-end applications
- Experience working in a product company
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work fully remotely and autonomously
- API testing experience (REST, contract testing)
- CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Experience with containerised or cloud-based environments (AWS)
- Exposure to test data management and environment strategy
