An exciting opportunity exists for a commercially astute and results-driven Business Development Manager to join a leading organisation at the forefront of global supply chain solutions. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for growing a targeted sales pipeline by developing and managing customer relationships across the contract logistics sector. The focus is on identifying, building, and converting high-value opportunities to drive growth in logistics services, with strong support from cross-functional teams. Duties
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve commercial targets within defined verticals or geographies
- Lead client engagement from initial contact through to successful deal closure and implementation
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing and prospective customers to maximise wallet share
- Collaborate with internal commercial, operations, and service teams to ensure seamless customer delivery
- Provide input into pricing and contract negotiations to support sustainable growth
- Track and manage a robust sales pipeline including short-, medium-, and long-term opportunities
- Deliver accurate sales forecasting and performance reporting
- Represent the organisation at industry events and client meetings
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or related sectors (Experience in contract logistics will be highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of contract logistics and proven success in developing opportunities in this space
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, build a pipeline, and achieve or exceed sales targets
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinker with sound commercial judgment and the ability to work autonomously
- Comfortable with CRM tools and sales reporting systems
- Experience navigating complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to travel to meet with clients and partners as needed
