About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a commercially astute and results-driven Business Development Manager to join a leading organisation at the forefront of global supply chain solutions. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for growing a targeted sales pipeline by developing and managing customer relationships across the contract logistics sector. The focus is on identifying, building, and converting high-value opportunities to drive growth in logistics services, with strong support from cross-functional teams. This is a strategic and consultative role that requires both customer focus and commercial insight, ideal for a proactive individual looking to make a lasting impact in a fast-evolving industry.

Duties
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve commercial targets within defined verticals or geographies
  • Lead client engagement from initial contact through to successful deal closure and implementation
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing and prospective customers to maximise wallet share
  • Collaborate with internal commercial, operations, and service teams to ensure seamless customer delivery
  • Provide input into pricing and contract negotiations to support sustainable growth
  • Track and manage a robust sales pipeline including short-, medium-, and long-term opportunities
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasting and performance reporting
  • Represent the organisation at industry events and client meetings
Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or related sectors (Experience in contract logistics will be highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of contract logistics and proven success in developing opportunities in this space
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads, build a pipeline, and achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinker with sound commercial judgment and the ability to work autonomously
  • Comfortable with CRM tools and sales reporting systems
  • Experience navigating complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients and partners as needed
