About the Company
Our client is a specialist, long-established organisation with a highly qualified and collaborative team. They are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeping & Administration Officer to support both operational and finance functions. The position is part-time (4 days per week) beginning on a temporary basis with a strong potential to go permanent. Based on St Kilda Road & offering 2 days working from home, they are seeking someone who can start immediately. 

The Role
Reporting to the Office Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Bookkeeping 
• Manage AP & AR, including bank and credit card reconciliations (with some foreign currency accounts)
• Prepare and lodge monthly IAS and quarterly BAS
• Handle payroll & superannuation for 13 staff
• Manage WorkCover, payroll tax, insurance renewals and end-of-year close
• Liaise with the external accountant on tax compliance matters

Administration
• Manage shared company files, subscriptions and general correspondence
• Order supplies, assist staff, and prepare ad-hoc reports
• Maintain accurate records and support daily business operations
• Assist with internal reporting and grant applications

The Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping experience 
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits)
  • Confident handling payroll, BAS/IAS and general reconciliations
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Reliable, proactive and enjoys working in a close-knit team
  • Qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting (Cert IV or higher) preferred
  • Must have experience using XERO
