The Role
Reporting into the GM of Finance, the Cost Accountant:
▪ Management and review of standard costing system and processes including creation and maintenance of product costings; Bill of Materials (BOM’s), routings and overhead recovery rates
▪ Business partnering support to the operational and logistics / Supply Chain SLT
▪ Assist with the creation and maintenance of product item master data: generation of new item numbers (finished goods and raw materials), inclusion in BOM’s and executing cost rolls
▪ Manage month end inventory close processes, including preparation of work papers to support reconciliation of cost centre GL account, material and utility usage, inventory balances
▪Assist with the annual budget process for all manufacturing inputs and standard costs (labour, product costing and production costs) including provision of supporting analysis and reporting
▪ Periodic forecasting across all manufacturing inputs including variance analysis and reporting
▪ Apply the recently applied ABC costing to the monthly reporting, CY26 budget and SAP
▪ Analyses and report on manufacturing variances and partner with operations to deliver improvements and efficiencies. This shall include purchase price variances, materials variances, yields and labour analysis.
▪ Provides detailed cost analysis and modelling across all manufacturing inputs: plant costs and utilisation rates, labour utilisation, logistics, fixed expense management by division versus budget and forecast
▪ Assists in the management of working capital, collaborating to optimise inventory levels and manage reporting of slow moving and obsolete stock, providing commercial analysis to support decision making
The Candidate
▪ CA / CPA qualified
▪ 3+ years of manufacturing and cost accounting experience
▪ Strong system skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel) and proven experience with large ERP systems (SAP)
