We are partnering with a large, complex organisation undergoing a major modernisation of its core technology platforms. This newly created role will suit a senior Domain Architect who enjoys owning platform strategy, shaping future-state architecture and providing strong design governance across enterprise initiatives.
This is a platform and domain-focused architecture role (not a project-only solution architect position), with a strong emphasis on hybrid environments, governance and long-term roadmap ownership.
You will be responsible for the architecture and strategic direction of the organisation’s compute, network/telecommunications and security platforms. You will work closely with delivery teams, security, and other architects to ensure solutions are well governed, future-proofed and aligned to enterprise strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Own and develop the platform and domain roadmaps across compute, network/telecoms and security in a hybrid environment.
- Provide deep technical architecture leadership across infrastructure and platform domains.
- Review, assure and approve architecture and solution designs produced by delivery and project teams.
- Act as a key contributor to architecture governance forums and design review processes.
- Partner closely with information security teams to ensure compliance with security standards and controls.
- Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends and vendor roadmaps to inform future platform strategy and commercial decisions.
- Influence technology direction to support business strategy, scalability, resilience and cost optimisation.
- Strong domain-level architecture experience across compute, network/telecommunications and security in complex hybrid environments.
- Proven experience creating and maintaining platform and technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategy.
- Experience using Orbus iServer (Orbus Infinity) and/or formal accreditation in TOGAF and/or ArchiMate.
- Demonstrated experience operating in an architecture governance and assurance role, reviewing and approving other teams’ designs.
- Strong understanding of vendor ecosystems and market trends, with the ability to future-proof platforms and support commercial and vendor negotiations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to work across architecture, engineering, delivery and senior leadership.
