About the role

The ecom Trade Strategist plays a critical role in building the Online channels by liaising between customer data, ecommerce and buying teams. Ensuring that the online team develops strategy & makes decisions based on customer behaviour. Responsible for sales analysis and tracking, implementing & reviewing promotional activity, setting category budgets for external buying, and online seasonal analysis to create sales strategy to hit online budgets.


Duties
  • Building our Online channels to ensure sales growth
  • Manage the Online External merchandise plans (WSSI documents, SSPs, etc) by category 
  • Review performance of products and categories, GWPs, looking at all sales channels, including Marketplaces, to spot patterns in customer buying behaviour to help identify sales opportunities.
  • Work with the external buyers to influence the range and seasonal product selection
  • Insightful analysis of total online sales, inventory, margin and key drivers of performance by Category and by Online channel, including opportunities to drive sales and profit growth – weekly, monthly, post/pre season
  • Develop detailed sales forecasts by understanding key traffic drivers and use this insight to influence future promotional activity.
  • Oversee key item planning, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained
  • Conduct post season range reviews, in conjunction with the buying team, to influence strategic assortment plan by category.
  • Work closely with the store merchandise, product development and buying teams to share knowledge of Omni Channel sales
  • Build and maintain monthly, quarterly, half yearly and management reporting  

Skills & Experience
  • A proven track record in Merchandise Planning or Category Management, preferably with an omni channel retail background
  • Experience in creating & implementing strategy 
  • Quantitative and analytical skills
  • High level of commercial and business acumen
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communicator who can develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
