Are you a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments? This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth, on-demand FMCG brand that’s reshaping how Australians shop. Operating with the agility of a start-up but backed by one of Australia’s most respected and well-known brands, this is the perfect blend of pace, impact, and stability.
You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team where ideas move fast, logic matters, and curiosity is key. If you love working with data, solving complex problems, and aren’t afraid of a bit of ambiguity, this could be the role for you.
About the Business & Role
With the backing of a large corporate group, this is a rapidly expanding business where the team operates independently — embracing the energy and innovation of a start-up, but with the resources and support of a major player.
As Commercial Finance Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the finance function across multiple brands and business units. This isn’t your typical reporting role — you’ll be embedded in the business, helping to interpret performance, improve processes, and shape commercial decisions.
The environment moves quickly — one month you might be supporting the integration of a new acquisition, the next working on a national product rollout with a major retail partner. It’s a role that will stretch your logic, challenge your assumptions, and reward your curiosity.
Based in Surry Hills with a hybrid working model, this opportunity offers both exposure and flexibility.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Support month-end close, reporting, and analysis to ensure accurate and timely delivery across multiple brands and markets.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports including weekly flash, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Support annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes across stores, overheads, and capital expenditure.
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to provide insights that drive business performance.
- Assist with integration projects — including acquisitions, new product launches, and business system developments.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, helping build efficiency and scalability in a rapidly growing environment.
You’ll be a inquisitive, proactive, and adaptable finance professional who enjoys solving problems and bringing structure to ambiguity. You’re equally comfortable diving into detail or stepping back to see the bigger picture — and you use common sense and commercial acumen to make things happen.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CA/CPA qualified or in progress preferred).
- 3+ years’ experience in a commercial or FP&A role, ideally in a fast-paced or complex environment.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills; exposure to SQL highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to challenge, question, and collaborate.
- A natural problem-solver with a bias for action and the ability to thrive “in the grey.”
- c.$115,000 + Super + 16% annual bonus.
- Hybrid working model based in Surry Hills – collaborate in a vibrant, central hub with flexibility built in.
- Work in a high-growth business backed by a major ASX-listed group, offering excellent career development opportunities
- A genuinely dynamic role where no two months look the same — from business integrations to new product launches.
- Access to employee benefits, wellbeing programs, and discounts across a range of leading retail brands.
- Be part of a passionate, fast-moving team that values curiosity, logic, and getting things done.
