Reporting to the Head of FP&A the successful candidate will lead in the development and improvement of the commercial reporting which aids the decision making of senior executives within the business. Stakeholder engagement (with internal and external decision makers) is a key element of this role in order to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the organisation's budgeting and forecasting. Key responsibilities include:
Business Support
- Spot business risks, performance gaps and growth opportunities, and work with leaders across the business to address them early.
- Lead the development, review and refinement of business cases, including supporting financial models.
- Lift financial capability across key stakeholders by coaching them in commercial drivers, cost/revenue impacts and effective use of information systems.
- Ensure strong financial governance across the business unit, including correct treatment of operating and capital spend and timely capitalisation of assets.
- Own the annual budgeting process in partnership with the General Manager – Operations and senior leaders.
- Co‑lead budget presentations for the business unit to the Groups executive team
- Deliver monthly forecasts with clear, insightful variance analysis in collaboration with the General Manager and leadership team.
- Work closely with the broader Finance team to maintain accuracy, integrity and transparency of the business unit’s financials.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the General Manager – Finance, General Manager – Victoria and senior leaders, including budget, prior‑year and forecast variance analysis.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring systems, processes and procedures operate efficiently and align with best practice.
- Support project work and undertake additional responsibilities as required by the Deputy CFO and GM of Operations.
The Successful Applicant
CA or CPA qualified, this role demands excellent communication skills, proven stakeholder management experience and a desire to improve existing analysis tools and reporting. The successful candidate will have proven Finance Business Partnering experience gained in a medium to large corporate ideally within a fast faced environment. Big 4 / Mid tier first movers out of Audit or Business Services are also encouraged to apply.
