About the role 
An exciting, newly-created role with a multinational, industry-leading organisation has arisen to fill a key role in their Finance team. This Finance Business Partner position will help provide insightful analysis into key performance trends that exist in order to drive the positive financial direction of the company. This role is a full-time, 5 day in the office, permanent opportunity. If sporadic work-from-home flexibility is needed; this is of course treated with a "common sense approach" and allowed.

The responsibilities
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Month End - responsible for overseeing the full month-end close process for the business unit. This includes preparing & processing month-end journals; including intercompany arrangements in Pronto. Also, be accountable for the P&L and balance sheet month end reporting; working collaboratively with the Group Finance team
  • Finance Business Partnering - be the key Commercial Finance conduit between Operations and broader Finance. Bring together facts and data to drive the right discussion with stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities, and delivering better overall business outcomes. 
  • Team Mentoring and Training – mentor and manage one direct report and two indirect reports
  • Business Analysis and Insights – perform key analysis of profitability and business opportunities across areas such as customers, products, manufacturing COGS, pricing, discounts, sponsorships, assets, utilisation and labour productivity. Perform recurring and ad-hoc analysis and drive methodology and tools to create insights for the company.
  • Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting – preparation of the business unit annual budget and continual reforecasts. Create, update and maintain financial models and detailed forecasts of the organisation’s future operations (including comparing historical results against budgets and forecasts; performing variance analysis to identify deficits and opportunities to optimise performance)
  • Reconciliations – responsible for the completion of all balance sheet reconciliations of the divisions on a monthly basis in Blackline software.
  • Financial Reporting – prepare monthly management reports for the GM & Department managers. Use BI tools to prepare monthly financial reports for inclusion in Sales & Margin, Divisional P&L and Board Reports.
  • Finance Process Improvement & Projects - Identify and drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Ad-hoc project work as required.
The successful applicant will have  
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong attention to detail, enjoy cross-functionally partnering with senior stakeholders and have previously had direct team management / people leadership experience.
