Our client is a reputable global manufacturing organisation. With a strong footprint in the Australian market and a dedicated manufacturing facility in China, our client is looking expand their business into international markets with specifically targeting the USA and Canada.

As the Finance Manager, you will play an integral role in the transition of the Chinese facility financial operations from a manual, agricultural level of control and reporting to a process-driven, transparent, fully costed and controlled operation in line with the Australian business.
The role will directly manage the Finance Manager based in China who has 3 direct reports. You will also be involved with the operational teams in china including procurement and manufacturing and will be integral to the communication between the Australian and Chinese operations.
The candidate will need to have an ability to manage teams effectively and ensure the china finance team achieves expected timelines and deliverables. 
The core responsibilities for this role will include:
• Improving cashflow reporting to Australia operations and ensuring cash requirements are being appropriately forecast;
• Working with the china operations team to improve the integrity of the manufacturing and inventory software, fishbowl;
• Implementing detailed processes and controls to the manufacturing process, from procurement and PO to costing and analysis;
• Review job analysis costing from china finance manager and clearly articulate to Australian operations variances to budgets;
• Review budgets for module builds provided by the China finance team and identify changes;
• Update pricing models with data from the China finance manager and ensuring the china team adheres to these pricing requirements;
• Ensuring China finance team are updating and using Xero accounting software (currently 2 general ledgers being run);
• Training and education of local Chinese team on accounting and bookkeeping processes;
• Ensuring month-end and year-end deadlines and requirements are being met;
• Shift from manual paper-based controls to system and finance lead controls;
• Involvement with ad hoc tasks and projects to support the wider business including system requirements gathering and assistance with system implementation.

• Strong attention to detail and intellect;
• Good presentation and communication skills;
• Fluent in speaking and writing both English and Mandarin (Cantonese preferred);
• Ability to train and coach team;
• Ability to travel to China on a regular basis;
