From humble beginnings more than 50 years ago, Autex Acoustics is a New Zealand head quartered company that has grown to serve over 18 export markets, with manufacturing and finishing networks in four countries. Autex specializes in manufacturing and distributing innovative textiles and acoustic products for interior environments with their products commonly used in architectural and interior design projects to enhance acoustics, aesthetics, and sustainability.
  
The Role: 
Reporting to the Australian Head of Finance (Financial Controller) and working closely with Australian General Manager, you will assume responsibility for developing and delivering a highly effective finance function. You'll oversee all financial operations for Autex Australia, ensuring precision and accuracy whilst offering in-depth analysis to support business strategy and performance.

Key tasks will include:  
  • Management of five direct reports
  • Monthly reporting to management, including controlling the month end process
  • Sales & Gross Margin analysis & reporting
  • Reporting on manufacturing costs & variances
  • Day to day financial management including oversight of cash flows, bank and other general ledger reconciliations
  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • Continuous improvement of current processes, reports and systems
  • Engaging with operations to ensure that finance remains abreast of changes and developments within the business
The Candidate:
You are CA/CPA qualified with highly developed technical accounting skills and commercial acumen, along with proven experience managing complex and high-level stakeholder relationships. You are a big picture thinker who can reason at a conceptual level, while still maintaining strong attention to detail. 

Crucially, you are a natural leader with a strong depth of experience in managing teams and have the confidence and credibility to engage effectively and build relationships with senior executives and operational stakeholders.

Most importantly you are excited by the idea of running an end-to-end finance function in a broad and hands-on capacity.
  
Other requirements include:
  • Previous exposure working within a Manufacturing / FMCG environment
  • Extensive experience as a hands-on FM / FC
  • An ability to travel weekly between Richmond, Heidelberg and Bayswater
  • Advanced ERP capabilities (implementation experience viewed favourably)
