An exciting opportunity within an multinational industry-leading organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. This Financial Accountants' position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ accounting activities on a national scale. Initially, this role will commence as a long-term 12 month fixed-term contractual role, however there is the opportunity for this to be extended / become permanent. This role has fantastic flexible working arrnagments; with 3 days work-from-home available.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, with in-depth analysis of financial performance and key variances
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliation processes, ensuring integrity of financial data and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and management reports, providing insights to support business decision-making
- Coordinated internal and external audits, acting as the key point of contact and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements
- Assist in overseeing local tax compliance, including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and workers’ compensation, and collaborated with advisors on corporate income tax matters
- Assist in payroll accounting, including review and approval of payroll journals and reconciliations
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes; including assisting SAP Hana transition, strengthening S&OPs and enhancing internal control frameworks
- Proactively business partner with cross-functional stakeholders and offshore outsourcing team to support financial planning, reporting, and operational initiatives
Ideally, you will be a fully CA/CPA qualified accounting professional or studying towards; and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have strong Microsoft Excel skills, have experience working in a dynamic & high-volume environment and possess a positive "can-do" work ethic.
