The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:
- Ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial reporting and analysis
- Present monthly reporting and insights to Head of Finance
- Lead and mentor a team of direct reports and indirect reports to reach KPIs
- Identify efficiencies and improvements that can be gained from our new systems
- Continually identify areas for process improvement and execute accordingly
- Improve reporting systems to ensure the delivery of insights to support commercial decision making
- Assist with the yearly audit process and be the key liaison with external parties
- Provide support to the accounts teams to ensure they are sufficiently trained and skilled to complete their tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Strong management of general ledger accounts and consistent allocation of transactional entries
- Ensure the accurate reporting of revenues and expenses in their correct reporting periods
- Assist Head of Finance with establishing improved cash flow forecast models to ensure company liquidity is maintained across the business cycle
- Support for the preparation of monthly performance reports
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, amortisation & depreciation journals
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, or related field
- CA/CPA highly regarded but not essential
- 5+ years experience in similar finance position
- XERO experience highly regarded but not essential
- Sound commercial & analytical acumen
- A proven track record of managing a small team in a fast paced SME environment
- A blended skillset of ‘roll up your sleeves’ and being able to see the big picture
