Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance team based in Macquarie Park. Reporting to the Finance Manager / Financial Controller, this role will play a key part in supporting accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across the business.
This position offers exposure to core financial operations including month-end close, general ledger management and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be comfortable working autonomously while partnering closely with internal stakeholders across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities including journals and reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and analyse financial statements and management reports
- Support statutory reporting, audit processes and compliance obligations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Contribute to finance process improvements and systems enhancements
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate financial insights
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- CPA or CA qualified (or near completion)
- 2–5 years’ experience in financial accounting or reporting roles
- Strong understanding of accounting standards (AASB / IFRS)
- Experience managing month-end processes and reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills and exposure to ERP/accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Paying up to $130,000 + super
