The Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a broad Financial Accountant position responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and monthly reporting across the group.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working autonomously, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants exposure to end-to-end finance within the construction sector.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
  • Complete full balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare job costing and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports
  • Conduct detailed P&L analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Process subcontractor claims (RCTIs)
  • Prepare and post monthly journals
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Manage client retentions and follow up outstanding invoices
  • Issue and track bank guarantees
  • Prepare and lodge compliance reporting (GST, PAYG, FBT, payroll tax, superannuation, TPAR, etc.)
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Assist with payroll processing and timesheet management
  • Support insurance claims administration
  • Identify process and technology improvement opportunities
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects as required
The Candidate
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
  • Experience in construction, building, or project-based environments highly regarded
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Proven experience preparing management reports and reconciliations
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Resilient, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced industry
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with operational stakeholders
  • Motivated, accountable and able to work autonomously
