We have partnered exclusively with a private business who have doubled revenue for the past two years. Due to exponential growth they are adding a Financial Controller to their existing finance team of 15. The team consists of well tenured individuals which is testament to the great business culture they uphold. Reporting directly to the CFO with clear career progression on offer this is an excellent opportunity for somebody who enjoys a fast paced role and has the ability to build internal rapport with the existing team, and also have a seat at the table with key decision makers in the organisation, offering financial expertise and guidance.
The Role
As a Financial Controller reporting to the CFO, you play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization while supporting strategic objectives and driving operational excellence.
- Oversee the selection and training of finance staff, establish lines of control and delegate responsibilities to subordinate.
- Participate in regular executive meetings and general discussions relating to development of new business activities, continual improvement measures, budgetary forecasts, changes to the company organisation structure, current policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, clients, industry associations, external agencies and other stakeholders to promote organisation awareness and profitable business relationships.
- Provide strong and effective leadership to develop, monitor, mentor and evaluate the performance and efficiency of direct reports.
- Provide monthly budget vs cost reporting to Executive Managers for each area of their responsibility that clearly show the profit or loss on the monthly activities for each of our offshore vessels or operational activities.
- Spearhead the processes and the statutory, legislatively and financial requirements to successfully lead the Company through an IPO process (should this ever occur) throughout providing sound and articulate advice to the CEO and CFO.
- Responsible for all Company Secretarial matters including dealings with ASIC, Company appointed Auditors, statutory authorities and alike.
- Provide strategic direction and advice to senior executives, managers and key stakeholders on Finance and Banking policies, processes and initiatives, as well as legislative and statutory requirements, to enable effective financial management and the management of organisational issues and risks.
- Collaborate with the executive management team to develop and implement plans for the company financial infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel required to accommodate the growth objectives of the company.
- Direct the collection of financial and accounting information and the preparation of budgets, reports, forecasts and consolidated profit and loss reports.
- Direct and coordinate economic research and major feasibility studies involving detailed financial analysis and estimates of future returns on proposed investment.
- Evaluate the financial aspects of proposed acquisitions, investments, mergers or the sale of assets or businesses, as appropriate.
- Provide assessments of proposals involving financial expenditure and the financial status of operational projects.
- Oversee activities such as taxation, credit policy, cash flow, costing and expense control and audits.
- Represent the organisation in dealings with bankers, legal advisers, major clients and others as required.
Your Profile
- CA/CPA Qualified
- Held a similar position for minimum 3 years
- Able to work in a fast paced environment, with flexibility to have the occasional meeting outside of hours due to global office locations
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
