The Company and the Role:
We are proud to be partnering with a globally recognised leader in the food manufacturing sector. With a strong national presence and consisting of well-loved brands, the business prides itself on its loyal and growing consumer base. This Financial Controller will play a key role in leading financial and statutory reporting, taxation & compliance reporting, and treasury and cash management. This role will also have up to 15 direct and indirect reports.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain financial reporting framework, ensuring compliance and quality in delivery. 
  • Oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financial statements for the Group to meet monthly, quarterly and annual requirements.
  • Review, challenge and understand the financial results and trends and proactively communicate up, down and laterally as appropriate.
  • Ensure liquidity & cash management to meet liabilities as and when they fall due.
  • Ensure timely and accurate treasury processes, including weekly and monthly forecasting of cash flow and FX requirements.
  • Lead the end to end process for capital expenditure and maintain appropriate controls, tracking, approvals and reporting of all capital related spend.
  • Oversee all banking relationships and administer access, duty segregation, bank control.
  • Ensure all local and international tax deadlines are met including for GST, FBT, Income Tax, payroll tax etc.
  • Maintain accurate tax workpapers with supporting schedules and liaise with external third party providers as appropriate to manage tax compliance obligations
  • Lead the transactional finance activities including AR, AP and Payroll teams. Lead and organise the transactional teams to best support their activities and the business, ensuring efficiency in operation and outcome and strong leadership at all levels.
  • Preparation of the annual budget for General and Administration expenditure, depreciation and personnel costs.
  • Deliver robust Balance Sheet and Cash Flow budgeting and forecasting.

Your Profile:
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller in a large, multi-subsidiary organisation.
  • Prior manufacturing or FMCG experience is ideal
  • CA/CPA qualified. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, tax regulations and audit compliance.
  • You have led teams of 5-10 in the past and enjoy investing in your team's development and growth.
  • You are process-oriented and enjoy improving workflows.
