Lead fleet maintenance and staff for a well-established transport operation
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the servicing, upkeep and maintenance schedule for forklifts, tankers, trucks and trailers
- Lead a small team of two: a light vehicle mechanic (supporting heavy vehicles) and a well-trained trades assistant
- Respond to occasional after-hours vehicle or equipment issues
- Maintain accurate data and records using internal systems, and contribute ideas to improve workflows
- Ensure compliance, safety, and reliability of all fleet assets
- Qualified heavy vehicle mechanic (or capable of obtaining the qualification)
- Strong mechanical background and ready to step into a leadership role
- Confident communicator who engages well with teams and understands operational urgency
- Experienced in the transport or logistics sector with solid industry knowledge
- Comfortable with basic admin and system use; open to process improvement
- Standard hours: 6am–2pm or 7am–3pm, with flexibility for occasional calls outside hours
