This opportunity will appeal to a senior finance leader who combines deep technical capability with practical leadership, and who understands the responsibility that comes with managing public trust in a highly regulated, purpose-led environment.

Role:
As General Manager – Financial Control, you will act as a key advisor to the CFO, executive leadership, operations teams, and the audit & risk committee.
Your remit will include:
  • Owning the end-to-end financial control framework, ensuring integrity across balance sheet, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Leading the external audit process, including statutory financial statements, Aged Care Financial Reports (ACFR) and Quarterly Financial Reports (QFR)
  • Establishing and overseeing an internal audit capability within finance, including control testing and remediation
  • Providing authoritative technical accounting advice across complex matters such as M&A, leasing, and ESG / sustainability reporting
  • Maintaining robust governance documentation and financial process controls across all material activities
  • Overseeing treasury operations, including cash flow management, liquidity compliance, banking covenants, and prudential requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with aged care prudential standards
This is a role that balances technical excellence, regulatory leadership, and commercial pragmatism.

Candidate:
You will be a credible, values-aligned finance leader with:
  • CA or CPA qualification (mandatory)
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Demonstrated senior experience in financial control, statutory reporting, and governance within aged care or a similarly regulated environment
  • Background in audit and strong technical accounting capability
  • Proven experience leading payroll, billing, or transactional finance teams at scale
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence executives, operations, and governance committees
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to lead change in complex environments
Experience with aged care EBAs, pay rules, and operational rostering environments will be highly regarded.

Leadership Scope:
You will lead multi-disciplinary teams across payroll, accounts receivable, and treasury, with a strong focus on capability uplift, service quality, and process improvement.
